The Protestant Reformation initiated by Martin Luther, along with the subsequent Catholic Counter-Reformation, was impactful religiously, socially, politically, economically and artistically. The residual effects continue to reverberate in Western culture today and is apparent in how we vote, how we spend money, how we make money, and how we create and view art.
Lisa M. Williamson, Creative Director of Palladio Home and Garden, will discuss the history of the Reformation and the role it played in the evolution of art including the good, the bad, and the ugly! Lisa is currently a PhD student of Philosophy with a concentration in Critical Theory and Art History at the Institute for Doctoral Studies in Visual Arts.. She holds an MFA from Memphis College of Art.
